Mayor's Gallery - April 2023: Aniko Kiezel's "15 Minutes Before Sunset"

Sacramento, CA (Apr. 10, 2023) – For the month of April, the Mayor’s Gallery is featuring “15 Minutes Before Sunset,” a photograph by Aniko Kiezel.
The photo depicts by the beautiful lotus flowers at William Land Park, and in unique coincidence, the same lotus flowers featured in last month’s work by featured artist Jill Estroff.
For Aniko, this image captured the atmosphere, the mood, and the vibrant and sharp colors of the lotus flowers. When photographing outdoors or an environment, she prefers close to sunset.
Early in the morning around sunrise and late in the evening around sunset is often referred to as ‘Golden Hour’ for photographers due to the unique natural lighting.
Kiezel, a Hungarian native, lived in Los Angeles for many years working as a print producer for large companies, including Paramount Studios and Red Bull. Aniko returned to Sacramento and combined her experience with design and art direction with developing her skills behind the camera. Currently, she works for Inside Sacramento monthly on the Farm to Fork column and the HOME column.
