New riverfront walkway replaces dilapidated boardwalk in Old Sacramento
Old Sacramento is a more pleasant and safe place to stroll and bike with the opening of the new stamped-concrete walkway that replaces the uneven and broken boards visitors formerly had to navigate. This $8-million city investment should be just the beginning of what we do to make our waterfront a destination.
Electric assisted-pedal bikes from JUMP are now available for rent in Old Sacramento and elsewhere around town. The smooth surface of the new walkway is much easier to bike on than the rough railroad ties that formerly comprised Old Sacramento's main waterfront walkway.
