Celebrate and serve for Earth Day at these Sacramento events
Sacramento (Apr. 14, 2022) This year Sacramentans have a chance to celebrate and give back for Earth Day at a variety of neighborhood events throughout the city. Starting Friday, April 22 until Sunday, April 24, community organizations and city departments are hosting events in every council district. There will be a fun run, clean-up events, musical performances, and opportunities to make art all across the city.
The clean-up events are hosted by the City of Sacramento and will be at nine different places throughout the city. Volunteers should wear sunscreen and appropriate work clothing, as well as bring their own water and snacks. Tools to clean litter will be provided. Sacramento Regional Transit will also be offering free bus and light rail rides the day of the event.
“On Earth Day this year, I am celebrating the future we are building with our commitments to sustainable practices at the City of Sacramento,” said Mayor Darrell Steinberg. “We are making serious and ambitious changes that will help get us to carbon zero by 2045.”
