City distributes millions of dollars in rental relief funds

Tenants in the City of Sacramento who are struggling to pay overdue rent have received $13.45 million from the City of Sacramento in the past four months.

The program, administered by the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, has also distributed $22.19 million to residents of unincorporated Sacramento County.

A total of 6,489 households have received assistance since May, including 2,430 of them in the city.

According to SHRA, another $13 million will be coming soon from the state of California to help more families.
