May 14, 2018 – Gov. Jerry Brown's revised budget proposal gives a big boost to plans to build a new courthouse in the railyard north of downtown.

The governor has added $459.8 million to his May Revise budget for construction of the Sacramento facility, which would sit next to the federal courthouse on the edge of the railyard. If the Legislature adopts his budget, bonds could be issued for the courthouse whenever it is ready to start construction.

Money was also added for courthouses in Glenn, Riverside, Sonoma and Stanislaus counties.

Below are some renderings of the planned courthouse by NBBJ/Motiv.
