Here's how to track the results of the City's $121 million in American Rescue Plan investments

Sacramento (March 18, 2024) The City of Sacramento recently launched an updated American Rescue Plan (ARP) Impact Hub, featuring new performance and equity dashboard reports.

The performance dashboards provide a comprehensive overview of the outcomes and impacts of the City’s ARP investments. They offer detailed insights into the progress and results of various ARP-funded projects, enabling residents to track how these investments are contributing to the city.

“These enhancements are a significant step in the City’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the utilization of ARP funds,” said Ash Roughani, special projects manager who coordinates ARP programs in the City Manager’s Office.

Equally important, the equity dashboard sheds light on the distribution and impact of these investments across different communities to ensure that the City’s efforts are reaching all segments of the population, particularly those community members who were disproportionately affected by the pandemic’s negative economic impacts.

“This dashboard is a key tool in the City’s aim to promote equity and inclusion in the City’s recovery efforts,” Roughani explained. “We believe the City has reached a new benchmark to help residents connect the dots between how much we’re investing in our communities and what resulted from those investments.”

The City will update the dashboards monthly to present the most recent data available and anticipates publishing additional information on those served by ARP funded programs.

The City encourages all residents to explore these new features on the ARP Impact Hub and can provide feedback to the City’s ARP Program Office by emailing arpahelp@cityofsacramento.org.

About ARP

The American Rescue Plan Act, signed into law in March 2021, provided $112.2 million to the City in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The City Council in September 2021 approved the ARP Framework and Funding Priorities, which include the following five key focus areas and funding commitments:

  • Small business and commercial corridor revitalization

  • City homeless and housing commitment

  • Youth, workforce training, and gang prevention

  • Arts and the creative economy

  • Valuing city employees and addressing organizational needs

The City received an additional $9 million in ARP pass-through funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, State of California and County of Sacramento – increasing the City’s total committed ARP investment to $121 million.

The City’s ARP funds must be spent by Dec. 31, 2026. Additional information regarding the City’s ARP activities, including funding opportunities and Council actions, is available at: cityofsacramento.org/ARP.
