Apr 19 Registration is open for summer activities in the City of Sacramento

Sacramento, CA (Apr. 19, 2023) - Starting today, April 19, the City’s Department of Youth, Parks and Community Enrichment will open registration for summer programs and activities.

“From outdoor adventures to water sports, our summer programs have something for everyone,” said Anthony Munoz, recreation manager for YPCE’s Community Enrichment division.

Sacramento families will find opportunities for camps, youth programs, pools and other activities. Early online registration is strongly recommended as spots fill fast.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Registration

Online – For a quick and easy registration experience, staff highly recommend registering online through the City’s ActiveNet system. If you have an existing account, be sure your contact information is up-to-date to receive the latest news and information.

In–Person – Drop by any of the community centers listed below to complete your registration in person. Staff will be available to guide you through the registration procedure.

SUMMER CAMPS

Kids Camp: City community centers will provide a safe space for youth to enjoy an array of exciting activities including games, crafts, cooking projects, drama, science and sports. These free programs are available at eight locations.

Ages 6-12; free, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Summer Oasis: Designed for grades 1-6 with plenty of individual hands-on activities, supervised exploration, and interactive fun. Two programmed sessions available at East Portal Park, Garcia Bend Park, North Natomas Regional Park and William Land Park. Campers should bring lunch/snacks, water bottles, and sunscreen.

Ages 6-12; fee of $100 per session, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Teen Scene: This free program is for teens ages 12-17. Staff will lead activities including creating art projects, engaging in fun activities and focusing on social emotional learning.

Ages 12-17; free; weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning in June

Aquatics

Summer registration will also bring increased aquatics programming including swim lessons, swim team, aquacise, and Jr. Lifeguard.
