Statement from City Attorney regarding the cancellation of the July 1 special meeting

The following is a statement from Sacramento City Attorney Susana Alcala Wood about the cancellation of the July 1 special meeting titled “Request for Independent Fact-Finding Inquiry Regarding Residency of District 2 Councilmember Sean Loloee”:

“In a news conference today, Councilmember Sean Loloee publicly stated his willingness to work with the City Attorney’s Office and cooperate with an independent investigation to resolve questions about his residency. I personally confirmed with him that he has agreed to the Mayor’s request to cooperate with my office in this investigation. As set forth in the Mayor’s letter, his agreement negates the need for the City Council to hold a special meeting on this. As requested, the City Attorney’s Office will share the results of the independent review once it is completed.”
