Mayor asks Sacramento City Council to keep overnight shelters open year round

On Tuesday, March 9, Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg will ask the City Council to approve a resolution keeping overnight, walk-in shelters open year round regardless of the temperature. The Sacramento Bee on Thursday published his oped explaining why he views these short-term shelters as a crucial piece of the City’s effort to get people off the streets and indoors.

Mayor Steinberg’s piece will be published in the print edition of The Bee on Sunday. Read it here.
