Show off your Earth-friendly costume in Sacramento's 'Green the Ween' contest

Hi friends:

We’re all going to have to celebrate Halloween differently this year to keep everyone safe, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a good time. Look around our city and you can see that people are getting pretty creative with the decorations. My office will be offering some ideas over the coming week.

Here’s a good one to start: We can have fun AND show we’re serious about tackling climate change by participating in Sacramento’s ‘Green the Ween’ Costume and Decoration Contest!”

The contest is run by 350 Sacramento, an environmental nonprofit that is celebrating 10 years of climate action throughout the month of October. I’m honored that they asked me to be a guest judge. I challenge you to show how you can be scary and still be sustainable this Halloween to help conserve resources, reduce waste, and send a message!

To enter the contest, submit photos and videos on the Facebook event page (linked here: https://fb.me/e/1uwSXKzZe) or tag @350Sacramento on Instagram with the hashtag #GreentheWeen Show off your ghoulishly green, eerily eco-friendly costumes and decorations before Thursday, October 29th at 5PM

Winners in each of the five categories (Greenest, Spookiest, Judge’s Favorite, Most Liked, and Family Fun) will receive a special edition t-shirt from 350 Sacramento AND a gift certificate to Refill Madness!
