Mayor's Gallery - April 2024: Leslie McCarron's “Dressed in Their Spring Bonnets”
Sacramento (April 5, 2024) - The Mayor’s Gallery is featuring “Dressed in Their Spring Bonnets” by Leslie McCarron for the month of April.
Reflecting on her earliest childhood memories, McCarron credits color and nature as the primary sources of inspiration that fueled her passion for creating art. In 2006, she took a significant step towards turning her dream into reality by enrolling in fine art classes at American River College. From this experience, McCarron received the encouragement to pursue her artistic talents further, seeking mentorship under various established artists.
McCarron works exclusively with oil paint because of its texture, versatility, and sculptural properties. – In most of her pieces, McCarron uses bold color to include elements of realism and abstraction with an emphasis on nature, light, and shadows.
McCarron’s paintings have been exhibited at the Crocker art Museum, the PBS KVIE gallery, the PBS KVIE Art Auction, Tim Collom Gallery, Sacramento Fine Arts Center, E Street Gallery, Kennedy Gallery, and the James Kaneko Gallery. She participates in the annual Sac Open Studios each fall and welcomes commissions. She is currently represented in Sacramento, California by Archival Gallery.
