700 Block of K Street nearing completion with restored Tower Records mural

The former Tower Records store at Seventh and K streets will soon reopen at Solomon's Deli, an eatery named after Tower Records founder Russ Solomon. As part of the project, artists are restoring the mural Solomon commissioned in 1973 for the building's entryway. The renovation of the Tower Records store is part of a $60.1 million housing and retail project that preserves the historic storefronts of this block of K Street.  The housing portion of the project, called The Hardin, offers a mix of affordable and market rate apartments. Take a video tour here.
