Mayor Steinberg’s Thousand Strong youth workforce initiative is heading into its third year. Starting on Thursday, December 6, the team at Thousand Strong will be accepting applications from community partners who can provide a truly meaningful experience to youth that are looking to better themselves.
Thousand Strong is a city-wide approach to workforce development that offers a system to help students earn a year of paid work experience and have place-based experiences that ensure that they leave the education system with the skills needed to successfully transition into the world of work. As part of Thousand Strong, students will have access to work skills training, job coaching, and mentors.
We are seeking compassionate, youth oriented, and energized partners to make Thousand Strong a success. For the 2019 - 2020 cohort of Thousand Strong our community partners should expect to recruit students, provide work skills training and year long coaching and mentoring, recruit employers to partner with Thousand Strong and work with the employer partners to place students in meaningful work experiences.
