State of Downtown 2018
At the State of Downtown address for 2018, Mayor Steinberg shared his vision for taking substantive steps to reduce the number of homeless people living on Sacramento streets rather than just "managing" the crisis. He said 2018 would be the year Sacramento aggressively addresses the issue of housing for those who need help the most.
He also talked about engaging the private sector in a community-wide fundraising effort to address other missing pieces of our work to address homelessness: prevention, additional shelter and resources to augment vouchers so private landlords will rent to those we get off the streets.
